José Banús port has been established in May 1970 as main tourist center of interest in the Costa del Sol and has received the Golden Medal of tourist merit and was awarded in Rome the International Gold Mercury for its help for the economic, cultural and social cooperation development.

It was built following the "Marinas" model. It has a capacity of 915 moorings of different sizes from 8 to 50 in length. It has 15 hectars protected area is 15 hectares and its draft goes from 3 to 6 meters in moorings and 7.5 meters in its mouth which is 80meters large. To complete its unique administrative concession of 99 years it has got two beaches on East and West sides.

Puerto Banús, Marbella is one of the best meeting points with high and enjoyable quality of life. Many famous people have passed by there such as There Majesties The Kings of Spain; his Highness the Count of Barcelona; There Majesties the Princes of Monaco. Famous Culture and Art personalities as the Nobel Price d. Puerto Banús is visited by approximately 4.400.000 people per year.

There are 4 car parks close to the port installations with availability for more than 2000 cars.
In an area of 10km of circumference there are 9 golf courses of 18 holes and 1 of 9 holes which can be lit up for night games. Some of them are considered the best in Europe.

The public service insure bus line to Marbella, trip to Ronda, Sevilla, Granada, Gibraltar. and also taxis, motorbike, bicycle and car rentals.
